Pia Shin attended Kenvic Training’s US Customs Broker Exam Prep Program in May of 2011 and passed the 2011 October Exam. She shares her preparation tips with fellow students.

Pia had no relevant experience before and was able to pass the exam in 5 months. She thinks the key is to follow the instructor’s instruction and be persistent.

US Customs Broker Licensing Exam Preparation Program

Total 18 sessions, 3 hours per Session, 1 session per week

Every Sunday from 2:00PM – 5:00PM (EST)

The new class will start on 04/08/2012.

This program is designed to prepare you for the Customs Broker License Examination given by U.S. Customs and Board Protection. Our Customs Broker preparation course is based on exam purpose, focused on understanding in Customs regulation (CFR19), classification of items and practical operation. Through this course, examinee can grasp the right way to prepare and pass the exam.

I bumped into Pat today. He was our student in spring 2011. He passed the Customs Broker Exam. he was hired by Expeditors as Customs Broker agent and will start working in September 2011. I can’t help but asking about his interviewing process. He had total 2 interviews. During those 2 interviews, Expeditors asked some technical questions but more on general questions such as why you want to make career change and why you like the industry. I guess Expeditors knows Pat has passed the exam so fewer technical questions were asked. Also I guess Expeditors holds a value that hiring a right person is more important than hiring a capable person.
